Binu Karthikeyan is an accomplished and competent legal professional with over 20 years of experience in addressing the array of legal challenges encountered by companies and individuals in achieving their business goals. He has brought together local experience and international service standards through extensive legal practice in UAE and India representing clients before arbitration proceedings and advocating in courts.

His areas of practice encompass a broad spectrum of substantive and procedural areas with specific focus on Commercial Arbitration, Construction and Real Estate disputes, International Trade, Investment, Maritime and Shareholder disputes.

Binu has represented clients in numerous Arbitration cases under the rules of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and acted as counsel for high profile cases in Dispute Resolution as in International Commercial Arbitration disputes. He has extensive experience and qualified to appear before most leading Institutional Arbitration Centers such as ICC, DIAC, ADCCAC and SCCA in UAE. He is also qualified to appear before DIFC and ADGM Courts in UAE.

He frequently advises clients on cross-border transactions involving distribution, franchising, and commercial agency, on issues arising under services arrangements, exclusivity, general liability, and risk mitigation. His expertise in various spheres of practice is secured by the enriched practice and exposure to the diversified national and international law in various jurisdictions.

Binu holds a Master’s degree (LLM) in International Commercial Law from the University of Surrey, UK, and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from India. He also possesses a bachelor’s degree (BA) in Economics which helps him in advising the clients on complex business transactions. He has been honored with a Doctorate in “International Law ” by Azteca University in 2023.

Binu has also received some prestigious honors and awards – He’s admitted as a Member (MCIArb) of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) UK. He has also been honored with the Global Lex-Falcon Award 2022 at the Lex Talk World conference, Dubai. Further, he has been honored with the “The Most Admired Global Indians 2022” Award by ‘Unified Brainz Virtuoso Ltd’ and ‘Passion Vista Magazine’; a prestigious annual selection of the most prominent personalities globally, who are exclusive, exceptional, and extraordinary and made indelible mark in their profession for others to follow and admire.

Binu is also a registered legal consultant before Dubai legal Affairs department, the H.H Ruler’s court and admitted as an advocate before the Bar Council of India while also being a member of the International Bar Association (IBA).
